Baby Shower

The baby shower is Eureka was a success. There was a good turn out and everyone seemed happy to be there. The food was great! All the food helped Jeremy and I a lot. Thank you to Jeremy's family who made all the salads and chocolate pretzels, and his Grandpa who grilled all the hamburgers and hot dogs. My friend Christina who made the cupcakes. To Ginger for hosting the shower. And to Pat and Mellisa who provided their house and yard for the shower.
Jeremy and I have been getting to baby's room put together, its coming along good. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I laundered and put away all the baby clothes that we got at the shower. I've been thinking of what her take home from the hospital outfit will be.
We have a prenatal education class tomorrow night. I think we're going to tour the birthing center in Roseville. I'm not delivering there, but I'll go to get a comparison to the Davis birthing center.
Not much has changed with the pregnancy. I get uncomfortable sitting or laying for too long. I think part of it is the belly and part of it is the extra weight I've gained. I've already been fantasizing about working out after the birth day and wearing my old cloths.

30 Weeks!!!!

We could welcome our bundle of joy in just eight weeks! There is so much to get done in the mean time. I've been thinking about the trip to the birthing center and what I need to bring for the big day. In a couple of weeks we need to install the car seat in both cars. I think that we'll take it to a police/fire station for installation. I'm sure we could figure it out, but I'd rather be safe and secure for my precious package.
I went to see one of the midwives yesterday. She said that all my labs are great and my blood pressure is normal. I asked about my weight gain and she said that its normal. But since I've gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks then maybe I should watch the sugars and go on walks. Ummm ya but, its been 100+ degrees here in Sacramento the last week or two and I don't feel like walking anywhere.
We're going to Eureka this week for our baby shower. It's going to be so much fun! And I can't wait to see everyone. I'm looking forward to see my mom, dad and my high school friends. I haven't seen them in a long time. And I don't think my dad has seen my pregnant yet.
I got another leg cramp last night, it woke me up in horrible pain. I hate them! There's nothing I can do until it passes and then I can flex my toes up and stretch my calf.

Hot and Tired

I've been working six days a week while the full timer is on vacation. And I am tired! Last Saturday I took a four hour nap while Jeremy went golfing. Its been on the 90s the last couple of days. Today I delivered mail and it was 98 degrees. Working in the heat isn't as bad as I thought it would be because I can deliver my route in 2 or 2 1/2 hours. (The rural routes are all driving route so no walking for me.)
At night I wake up hot! I've been waking up in the middle of the night to turn on the AC. I have to go potty anywhere from two to five times a night. I get horrible leg cramps every once in a while. And my dreams are vivid but mostly about nonsense. I've only had one anxiety dream that I can remember and it wasn't about the baby. So all in all, sleeping sucks!
Last Friday Jeremy and I started our first childbirth education class. The class is geared towards delivering the baby naturally in a calm, stress free environment. The first class I got a hand, feet and back massage! It was great! I told Jeremy we need to practice and hand and feet massages at home, but he wasn't buying it. I think that Jeremy and I are one of the younger couples in our class. Everyone but one couple are expecting their first baby. And we're all due around the same time. Its weird to see all those pregnant ladies in one room, and yet I'm one of them. Half of them do prenatal yoga on Thursday nights. Maybe I'll take a class to make new mommy friends and learn some good exercises.
