5 months old

Madelyn is now 5 months old! Time has been going by so fast. As you all can see, Madelyn has found her feet. She hasn't put them in she mouth yet. It is so cute to watch her raise her little legs in the air and play with them. We think that she now weighs around 19 lbs. Which may be pushing the charts for a 5 month old, lol.
We went to the bay area for Jeremy's graduation from operating engineers apprenticeship. Madelyn sleep the whole way in the car. And she was good at the dinner and ceremony. I thought that everything would be fine in the hotel. But No! Madelyn and I both fell asleep around 10 pm. And them she woke up at midnight screaming. And then at 12:30 and at 1am and 2am. I couldn't do anything to calm her down. I nursed her, gave her Tylenol, and teething tablets. Her screaming and crying sounded like she was in pain. At 2:30 am some guy knocked on our hotel door. Of course I didn't answer it, I was already doing everything to hash my baby. What did he really want? To Complain that he wasn't sleeping because of the crying baby. Madelyn would only fall back to sleep in my arms. So from 3 -4am I held her while I sat up, not the most comfortable position when I wanted to fall asleep too. Then I was able to put her over my shoulder so I could lie down too. I don't think that I feel back asleep until 5 am. I don't think that Madelyn and I will be sleeping anywhere else but our own beds for a while.

Hidden Falls Hike

Valentine's Day Hike

This Valentines Day we went on a hike to a place called Hidden Falls in Auburn (the town I work in). We hiked a 2.5 miles round-trip to see a 30 foot waterfall. Madelyn really enjoyed going outside and seeing the world. She loves being in her baby carrier where everything is right in front of her. It was really nice to spend the day together as a family on Valentines.
Madelyn has been sneezing, coughing, and has a runny nose like a dropping faucet. Its probably get the common cold. But she could have allergies since spring in coming. If she does have a cold then I feel like I'm the one to be blamed because I'm pretty much the only one who touches her. She hasn't been to daycare since last Monday. So I don't think she picked it up there. I researching online on what I should do to help relieve her symptoms. And it said that an infant will probably get the cold 10-12 times within the first year!

Madelyn has recently found out of use her hand. She is now grabbing and pulling objects. She will grab and shake a toy and then either drop it or put it in her mouth. She's cute because whenever she mouths an object she'll get a yucky face and pulls it out.
A few nights ago I found Madelyn on her tummy when I got up from bed to use the bathroom. She rolled over all by herself! But she wont roll over in playtime or any other time since then. I've been trying to encourage her to roll over or sit by herself. But she just isn't ready for those milestones yet.
I need to start looking for 6-9 month clothes for Madelyn. Right now she wears 6 month size and some of them are getting too small. Its starting to get a little bit warmer here so maybe I'll switch her back into short sleeves.
