6 months old

Madelyn turned 6 months last week! She is getting so big and is much more active. She had her 6 month well baby check-up yesterday. She is in the 96% for head circumference, the 95% for weight and the 96% for length. She is topping the charts at 19 lbs 11 oz and is 27 1/2 inches long.
We're going to Reno, NV for Easter with Jeremy's family. We're planning on spending two nights at his Grandparents house. I really hope that Madelyn will sleep well in a strange bed. I sure had a hard time on Jeremy's birthday in a hotel. Madelyn will also be meeting her Grandpa Barry (Jeremy's dad) for the first time during Easter.

Madelyn can sit up!

Yah my little baby can sit up all by herself. We have open her legs and make a little tripod so she doesn't fall over though. Madelyn still gets tired and falls over or she'll lean so far forward that her nose touches the ground. She'll be 6 months old on the 23rd, half way to 1 year old! Madelyn has her 6 month check-up on the March 30th. She'll get another round of immunizations and a well baby check-up. We think she weighs 19 1/2 lbs and is 27 ins long.
I just started reading other blogs about how to save money with coupons, and I'm a little obsessed with it. I check multiple times a day to see what the best deals are on grocery and baby items. I print on-line coupons out at home and use them everywhere. Even Winco takes on-line coupons. Today I scored and saved $65 off Huggies diapers at K-mart. A bag of diapers runs for $10 each, and I got 6 bags for $3 each. Plus I got 2 boxes of diaper that retail of $20 for only $10. I take my coupons with me everywhere. I'm still learning how to save the most money by couponing, but it is definitely paying off.

Smiley Face

Madelyn's First Cereal

o
We've giving Madelyn a little bit mashed banana and mashed avocado a week or so ago. She only ate like one bite of each, she didn't seen very interested in trying new food. So tonight Jeremy and I made a some bowl of rice cereal for her first real "solids." She opened her mouth and ate the rice cereal, but she was making funny faces the whole time. After about 8 spoonfuls she pinched her mouth shut. I guess she was telling us that she had enough.

Madelyn's New Activity Center

Madelyn got a new activity center and high chair yesterday. She really loves all the toys on the new center. Most of the toys already have her slobber on them! She will be cutting teeth soon. The seat rotates so Madelyn is able reach all the toys by twisting and turning.

Madelyn eat's her toes!

Madelyn has now mastered getting her toes into her mouth. It is the cutest thing every. Another milestone: She flipped over from her belly to her back this morning. Madelyn really has no interest in rolling over. So to actually watch her flip right in front of me made me happy.
Madelyn loves to grab whatever is in front of her now. She likes to grab the magazines that I read at night. She gives them a little shake, crinkles the pages and pulls them closer to her. And now she grabs Jeremy's glasses off his face. It is so cute!
We've all been sick of the last 2 weeks or so. Madelyn's cold is all better. But I feel horrible. I've been having sinus headaches everyday for a week, which I've never experienced before. And Jeremy went to the doctor on Friday for an ear infection. Jeremy is already feeling better since taking antibiotics and Advil. But I'm hoping that I will get better soon too.
