7 Months Old!

Two Teeth!

Madelyn had her 7 month birthday on the 23rd. I really can't believe that I have birth to her 7 months ago. I can still remember her birth like it was yesterday. In just 5 months she will be 1 year old!
Madelyn is a very happy baby. She loves to giggle when you say yum yum when I try to eat her neck or toes. And she is also a good sleeper at night too. We normally go to sleep at 10pm and wake up after 8:30 am. Madelyn still wakes up in the middle of the night at nurse. So I still don't get 8 hours of solid sleep. But sleep is 100 times better compared to the first 2 months Madelyn was home.
Madelyn isn't crawling yet. Which I think is a blessing because I need to child proof the house before she gets mobile. Jeremy is starting to compare Madelyn to other babies and thinks our baby is behind. I've trying to tell him that every baby is different and she will make those milestones on her own.
I went to a large consignment sale a few weeks ago and got a lot of clothes for Madelyn. I was able to buy clothes for pretty much $1-2 an item. I got a lot of sundresses for the summer and two pairs of cute shoes. I was also looking for a baby jogger, but by the time I arrived they were all sold out.
Jeremy is still laid off and I've only been working on Saturdays. So thank God of tax returns! We are still waiting to get our state return and the first time home buyers credit. I've still been couponing and saves $18 all in coupons at WinCo yesterday. I don't know why but I feel happy when I save money!

Sweet Potato

I think in my last post I said that Madelyn likes rice cereal. I now take it back... Madelyn really doesn't like solids. She will tolerate about 1 oz of sweet potato and her rice cereal has to be very watered down with breast milk. But she doesn't really enjoy them at all. It's not like she needs the extra calories for weight gain. So I guess that we'll wait another few more weeks to get her on track to a food regiment. And besides I really enjoy nursing her!
Madelyn has cut down to one poop diaper a day. Which is kinda weird because it happened all of a sudden. She went like from 4 dirty diapers to 1 dirty diaper in like a day. But it had been nice to save money on using less diapers.
Madelyn's two bottom teeth are coming in nice an even. I need to get the camera out and try to get a good pic. There is no sign of any other teeth coming in right now.
Jeremy has been laid off for over a month now. Which is a bummer because I hardly ever work at the post office anymore. It will be years until I can get a full time position there. But because of Jeremy's lay off, we have a lot of family time together. Hopefully we'll make a trip to Eureka soon and see our families. Madelyn needs to see her grandparents again.

Two Teeth

WE had a good Easter weekend in Reno, NV as a family. Madelyn is an awesome traveler! She slept almost the whole way there and back. We had to use our 4 wheel drive because we hit snow on I-80 going to Reno. And on our way back to Sacramento, I-80 was closed due to multiple accidents. So we had to drive on HWY 50 through Tahoe to get back home. There was again a lot of snow on the road. We had to drive 15 MPH over the summit because there was so many cars and the weather was so bad.
Madelyn hit another milestone this week. She got her bottom two teeth! One cut through about a week and a half ago and the other followed a couple of days ago. Whenever she smiles we can't help but saying, "hello two teeth!"
I just worked full time for 3 weeks and decided not to give Madelyn any solids until I was back to being a stay-at-home mom. Now I'm back at home and I decided to try solids again. I offered her rice cereal with breast milk, which she liked . Then I offered her watered down mashed banana. She didn't like it at all, she started gagging and almost vomited. Later that night Jeremy offered he jarred baby food. I think it was pear with raspberries. He said she didn't like it either. So we are still experimenting on the whole solid food concept.
