Madelyn started to stand up all by herself two days ago. And now she'll take a few steps without any support! !!!! (She's crying right now... so I'll blog later)

Halloween 2010

Madelyn dressed up in her favorite animal for Halloween: A Cat! We took her to an upscale outdoor shopping mall for trick-or-treating. I forgot a candy pal for all her treats. So we didn't get any candy. Its not like I would allow her to eat any candy... it would have been for mommy's tummy.

Autumn is Here!

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year! And here are a few pics of Madelyn enjoying the fallen leaves in our front yard.

Madelyn at 13 Months Old

Madelyn is 13 months old today! It seemed like we just had her first birthday, and now its a month later. Madelyn still isn't walking yet :( I really want her to start walking so I can put her in dresses again. She gets really frustrated when I dress her in a skirts or dress because she can't crawl.
Madelyn has now cut all four of her molars. She has been picky about what she'll eat and how much she'll eat. I think her teething has a lot to do with her loss of appetite. She' is also getting fussy when she is in her high chair. So I really have to be patient with her and offer her different kinds of foods. Right now she's in this only yogurt, cookies, and goldfish cracker phase. She doesn't want anything to do with baby jarred foods anymore.

Crib Time

Today I started to make Madelyn sleep in her own crib during nap time. Hopefully I can condition her to sleep in there all the time including night time. I get some disapproval comments that I co-sleep with my daughter. And I'm started to think that I should have transitioned her to a crib a long time ago. Anyways, Madelyn cried for 30 minutes straight when I put her down of a nap in her crib. I checked on her every 10 minutes to try to calm her down and lay her back down. After the third time that I laid her on her back, I shh'd in her ear and put my arm around her waist and she fell asleep! Her nap only lasted 1/2 an hour, but at least it is a start. Everyone says "let her cry it out", but what are we suppose to do when she wakes up multiple time in the night?

Happy First Birthday Madelyn!

Madelyn turned one on Sept 23rd! We had a two small parties for her. One on her birthday and another last Sunday. She got a cupcakes and presents at each party.
The year has really gone by so fast! I can literally remember every minute the day Madelyn was born, and now here we are one year later.
Madelyn is still crawling up a storm and cruising the furniture, but not walking yet. She can stand by herself if we help her up to a standing position. She has eight teeth, weighs 22 1/2 lbs, and is 30.25 in tall. Her current vocabulary is cat, dog, Mama, Dada, ah-oh, no no, and nana (nursing).

Madelyn will be 1 year old in less than four weeks. I don't know what we're doing for her birthday yet. Our families are so spread out that I don't know who will come to Madelyn's birthday party.
Madelyn is still crawling all over the house. I have to look down all the time so I'm not stepping on her. She's cruising the furniture now too. I think she'll be walking in the next couple of weeks.
Madelyn is getting too tall for her old infant car seat so I bought a new convertible car seat. The new car seat will be nice because Madelyn should have it for a couple of years. The new seat goes up to 70 lbs. The only thing that sucks is that now if Madelyn falls asleep in her infant car seat then I can carry the whole seat in the house. Now I'll have to wake her up when I need to get her out of the car.

Trip to Eureka

We went to Eureka for the second time in a month to addend another wedding. Madelyn did a great job traveling and being moved from one activity to another. We've been so busy as a family that we need to take a break and relax. Every weekend we have someplace to go and people to see.

We went camping at Trinity Lake two weekends ago, but I forgot our camera. This was our first camping trip with the three of us. A friend had a ski boat so Jeremy was able to do a little bit of wake boarding. I made Madelyn wear a life jacket near and on the water. She looked pretty uncomfortable in the thing. But the boat rides put her right to sleep.

We've been offering Madelyn more finger foods. She loves yogurt bits which are freeze dried yogurt drops that melt your mouth. Her favorite table food is spaghetti, but it is so messy because she now gets food in her hair.

10 Months Old

Madelyn is now 10 months old! She is crawling and pulling herself up. And she is onto everything. For some reason she like to eat paper and grass. So now I have to watch her all the time! Her new trick is it click her tongue against the roof of her mouth. Her 7th tooth is cutting in right now. She has 4 teeth on top and 3 on the bottom.

I know the video is a little dark. But I was messing around with the camera and wanted to share Madelyn's new trick to everyone. She can now stand on all fours. Its really cute! And Madelyn started saying "ah-ooh" thanks to Grandma Ginger.
