Madelyn doctor said that anytime I can start giving her rice cereal. But I don't think that she is ready for solids yet. La Leche League and the board of pediatrics recommends breastfeeding exclusively until your baby is 6 months old. And then continue breastfeeding along with solids until 1 year old. I don't think that she is ready for solids because she spits out her vitamins and medicine every time.
Madelyn also got her second round of immunizations today. I was able to stand next to her this time around. (Last check-up I made Jeremy stand next to her so I wouldn't have to see her in pain.) She had 3 shots in her legs and 1 oral injection. The first shot she was fine, but the second shot made her get really upset. I've never seen her little face get so red, my poor baby.

4 month checkup
Madelyn is now 4 months old! Today Jeremy and I told her to her pediatrician for her 4 month checkup. She has doubled her birth weight and now weighs 16 lbs 8 oz, which is the 95% for weight. Madelyn has grown 5 inches in 4 months! She is now 26 inches long, the 96% for length. And her head circumference is 43 cm, which is 93% The Dr. said she is doing great. All of her percentiles are high but she is all in proportion. So I don't need to worry about how big she's getting.

Baby girl is growing up!
I had to leave Madelyn at a home daycare last week. It was so hard to leave her! I got choked up in the car when I called Jeremy to tell him that I dropped her off. She was only there for 4 hours, the child care provider said that she sleep almost the whole time. We'll see how Madelyn (and me) do when she needs to be there all day. I'll probably do a horrible job at work because all I'll be doing to worrying about my little one.
Madelyn has her next doctors appointment on the 26th. I'm interesting to see how much weight she's gained in two months. We think she's about 15 lbs and 24 inches long.
